Vote Nobama 2008

If anyone has seen the back of my vehicle lately, or driven past my house, you will notice I am planning to vote for John McCain this year. Some very good brethren may disagree with this choice, but I believe it to the best one.

First off, this country cannot afford the liberal Obama/Biden ticket. Obviously there are moral issues such as abortion and sodomy at stake. No child of God should even consider voting for anyone who favors those! And then there is the issue of gun control. Do not be deceived, our guns are not safe with a "President Obama."

Secondly, there is more at stake than the next four years. The Supreme Court is divided now. We will see it shift further left with any judges appointed by Obama.  He would appoint those who believe the Constitution (Bill of Rights) are whatever the court interprets them to mean, not what the founding fathers wrote in plain English.  Remember these judges are appointed for life and they will still be a problem for years to come!

There are a host of other key issues that I could list here.  AFA has produced a very good voter guide.  Please look at it and pass it out to your friends and churches.

We must watch out.  Vote Nobama in 2008.  Please join me in voting for McCain on November 4th.  But don't forget to pray!

Hermit Crabs

Some of you who knew me when I was younger will remember that I have had hermit crabs. I even had some when Jill and I first got married. (Those crabs met an untimely death when the trailer lost power during a snow storm....it was too cold for them and the poor things froze to death before we got back to the house.) Well, I have four of the little guys now. And this time they are so much more fun than ever!

Hermit crabs, as they grow, they change their shells. When they outgrow one shell, they get another one. My daughter (4 years old) has to wear a brace for her scoliosis. As she gets bigger she has to get a new brace. I explained to her the similarities and she is so excited!

We got these crabs at different pet stores, but they all had one thing in common: none of the stores take really good care of these animals. So, their shells have been either too small or too painted! We have had three shell changes in about as many weeks. Leah gets so excited about that. And she gets to keep the painted shells (since they are not healthy for the crabs).

At first she was a bit afraid of them, but now she picks them up to look at them. Hermit crabs are such neat creatures made special by God and my daughter is was also created special by God!

"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." (Psalm 139:14)

Pray for our son!

Hello all! I am writing this post to request the prayers of God's people all over the world. Our son, Isaiah, born on July 31st, has a serious health condition called "Metopic Synostosis." If you have never heard of that, it is ok. Jill and I were unfamiliar with the term as well.

Metopic synostosis is the premature fusing of the metopic suture, which is in the forehead. This results in a pointed forehead. You can read a very good article about it by viewing the Mayoclinic.com Health Library.

We saw a specialist about it on 9/3/2008. The doctor is going to order a CT-Scan and then schedule surgery. The dates are not set in stone yet, but the doctor Isaiah has is a very good physician at Children's Hospital in Columbus. I'll try to update more as time goes on.

This is quite an ordeal for a little guy like Isaiah, but we serve a very big God! We do appreicate your prayers on his behalf (and on the behalf of my wife and I). Romans 8:28 stands true whether we are on the mountain or in the valley.

"Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's." (Psalm 103:1-5)

A Long Overdue Update

Well, it has been a long time since I have written anything on here. We are moved... there are still some things that need to be unpacked, but for the most part we are settled in. The neighborhood is lovely and it is such a joy to only be about 15-20 minutes away from work and church!

We are within walking distance of a gas station, library, post office, and a hardware store. It is different than anywhere else we have ever lived. We had a few cold spells since we moved here, but right now it is absolutely gorgeous with the flowering trees bushes and plants. I will try to post some pictures soon...

Things are going well at the church and every member has been a blessing to us. We now meet on Sunday mornings at 10 & 11, Sunday evenings at 6, and Wednesday evening at 7. We have had visitors the past few services, and enjoy the fellowship with the Lord's people here at the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Mansfield OH.

I'll try to post more stuff on here and get back into a routine. Please keep us in your prayers!

In Christ,

A Teacher Fights to Keep His Bible On His Desk

It is hard to imagine that this is taking place in America, a nation that was founded on Biblical ideals, but it is happening...right here in Ohio. We need to pray for our country and stand up against the ACLU and other liberals in our country now, while we still have time!

For those unfamiliar with this, please visit the following from the Mansfield News Journal:

Here's also a copy of my letter to the editor, written after I read about Mr. Freshwater.

The Mount Vernon school district ought to be ashamed! I read in disbelief the story about Mr. Freshwater's Bible. The part that amazed me is that he was not accused of teaching from the Bible, he was accused of having his Bible on his desk! I think this teacher ought to be commended for having his Bible in the school, and I wish there were more teachers like him! The First Amendment does not grant people freedom from religion, but it grants freedom of religion. The Founding Fathers did not intend to keep religion out of school. In fact, it was just the opposite. I own reprints of such 18th and 19th century schoolbooks as The New England Primer and McGuffey's Readers. These books are full of references about God and the Bible. Now the schoolbooks do not mention God, and teachers are apparently not allowed to even show their Bible in the classroom where the kids can see. During the early years of our nation, it was unheard of for one child to rape another. They had guns, but they did not shoot each other. Now, God has been “expelled” from the public schools and rapes and school shootings are much too common. Coincidental? I think not. These kids need to know the Ten Commandments, the golden rule, and the fact they were made in the image of God. The Bible was good enough for our Founding Fathers, and it is good enough for our kids today. I appreciate Mr. Freshwater's stand on this, and would encourage him to continue fighting.

Benjamin Rush, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence wrote, “The only foundation for a useful education in a republic is to be laid in religion.” And in the Bible, we read a warning that we all need to pay attention to: “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” (Psalm 9:17).

PRAISE THE LORD, part 2

Hello again.

It is in the name of our great God and wonderful Saviour that I write, trusting this finds all my readers well and rejoicing our Lord's bountiful blessings.

I just want to update you all: WE FOUND A HOUSE! It is a rental in Lexington. We would like to buy someday, but only when we have enough money to put a good down payment towards it. For now, this one will be fine.

By the way, it is Lexington Ohio, not Kentucky.

Our new address:

109 Delaware St
Lexington OH 44904

And our telephone number, which will go active on April 2:

419-884-6071

Pray for us, we plan to have the U-Haul in McDermott on Monday, March 31. I am hoping to get it packed up that morning and then unpacked that evening, but if it takes more than that day, it is ok. The U-Haul is mine for two days.

And, in case anyone wonders, we still plan to be at King's Addition's Bible Conference on April 4-6.

In Christ,

David Green

PRAISE THE LORD

Well, the past two days have been GREAT! For one thing, I was off from work two days IN A ROW. That seldom happens, and I know that Leah (our 4 year old daughter) really enjoyed it. We were able to watch cartoons, play, use finger paint, and all sorts of fun stuff. Jill (my lovely wife) also enjoyed having me around...we were able to get some things done together and have some fun...in spite of all the rain we have had.

A couple of very important events took place this week, and I'd like to share them with you.

JOB UPDATE. Yesterday, I got a phone call from Startek, a new call center in Mansfield. They had interviewed me several weeks ago, and offered me a job but I turned them down. At that time, they were only open Sunday through Thursday. Of course, being pastor, that would not work out at all. The lady who interviewed me told me she understood and would call me if anything changed. Well, apparently it did because yesterday she called me to offer me a Monday through Friday position! Lord willing, I will start there on April 7.

Please be much in prayer as we now turn our attention to finding a house.

BABY UPDATE. And, today, Jill and I went to see Dr. Song. He did an ultrasound and found we are having a boy! We rejoice in this and I have posted a picture of ISAIAH DAVID GREEN from that ultrasound. Leah says she will just call him "baby" and she will not mind helping when he is born, but she will not change any diapers! We are all very excited to welcome this precious baby into the world.

Please keep us in your prayers.

In Christ,

David M. Green

New Voter Guide from AFA

Well, Ohio FINALLY gets a turn at this process this Tuesday, March 4th. By this time, the list of candidates has gotten smaller. Today, the American Family Association sent me an updated voter guide listing only those candidates that are still running.

And, as you could probably tell from my website, I STILL think Mike Huckabee is the best choice, and will be casting my vote for him on March 4. Contrary to what John McCain thinks, he does not have the Republican nomination yet. And, I hope Ohio will remind him of that by voting for Mike Huckabee in the Republican primary! Speaking of Mr. Huckabee, I wanted to see him when he was in Columbus on February 27 but we were unable to go. Perhaps we will have another chance to see him when he is President of the United States of America!

Here are some useful links:

Recommended Books: Februrary 2008

Here are a list of books that I recommend on the subject of American History. I own all of these, and wish every American would read them. How great it would be if just one of these books would be required reading in every social studies class (whether it be in a public, private or home school)! Satan seems to be working hard to try to erase the truth of our country's Christian heritage. May we never forget, but more importantly, may we once again be a nation that pleases God!

"Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people." (Proverbs 14:34).

Mike Huckabee for President!

I Like Mike!Surprised? Maybe you have been led to believe that only two Republicans and two Democrats are running at this point in time. Maybe you have been paying too much attention to the television or the radio. All of the media (including CNN, FOX News, and even many "conservative" talk show hosts) have been talking about McCain and Romney, the two WORST choices on the Republican side.

Governor Mike Huckabee is by far the best choice to be the next president. If you have not thought much about him, please do.

"When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn." (Proverbs 29:2)

As a born again child of God, I cannot support any other person running for president. Voting is a privilege and an honor, something we should not take lightly! So, when you vote, cast your vote for such a man of high moral integrity as Mr. Mike Huckabee! If you can, please also support him financially.

Oh, and by all means, please also take a look at the Voter Guide published by the American Family Association to see where all the candidates stand on the issues that are important to this nation!

Can a man like Mike Huckabee be the next President of the United States? "And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible." (Mark 10:27)

Lesser of Two Evils?

Today, on my way to work, I heard James Dobson on the radio. Now, I do not always agree with Dr. Dobson and his Focus on the Family, but I have agreed with some of his ideas. So, I stopped to listen in. He was speaking about the upcoming election, and he said the following words, copied directly from the copy of the transcript found on their website:

"Some … some people are talking. You hear this a lot now. They talk about the lesser of two evils; choose the lesser. Well, the only problem with that is, when you choose a lesser of two evils, you've still chosen evil. And uh, it leads to compromise. And I tell you, I can't do that."

And neither can I. At the time of this writing, there is a BIG chance both candidates from the two major parties in the USA might very well equally support things like abortion, gay marriage, etc. How will you vote? We need to think about this very seriously because God demands holiness in everything, including the way we vote. Notice:

"Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy." (I Peter 1:13-16).

Mr. Dobson then ended his speech with these words: "It is never right to do what is wrong, and it is never wrong to do what is right."

Amen, and may God help us as His people to do that which is pleasing to Him.
