Living in the world brought smiles
But they only lasted for a little while.
Going out with ungodly friends
Only brought regret in the end.
I gave myself excuse after excuse-
Tying the knot in my own noose.

Lord, help me to see
You’re all I’ll ever need.
I’m not happy with my life;
Please make a change in me.

Living by faith, I have joy untold;
God brought me back to His fold.
Surrounded by my Baptist buddies,
The devil can keep his tool “false happy.”
To describe this joy, I don’t know how-
Except to say, my cup runneth over now.

Lord, now I can see
You’re all I’ll ever need.
I’m satisfied with my life;
You are sufficient for me.
